WAFLW full fixture revealed: Grand final rematch and Good Friday footy headline new fixture release

A round one grand final rematch, Good Friday footy and an abundance of games under lights headline the release of the 2026 WAFLW fixture. It is all set to kick off on March 28, with a jampacked Saturday of WAFLW action to launch the new season. Swan Districts will seek grand final revenge on powerhouse Claremont to kick start their campaign at Revo Fitness Stadium. SCROLL DOWN TO SEE THE FULL FIXTURE The Swans came agonisingly close of a maiden WAFLW premiership in this year’s decider falling short by just one-point to the Tigers. A blockbuster round one will also see Peel Thunder host East Perth, South Freo will take on derby rivals East Fremantle before Subiaco and West Perth do battle under lights in a twilight fixture at Sullivan Logistics Stadium. Perth’s second year in the competition will begin with the bye. With the men’s season set to begin on April 3 with a Good Friday double-header, the WAFLW will also feature heavily on the public holiday with a trio of clashes across the day. Perth will kick off their season the next day when they host Subiaco at home. Western Australia will chase their first victory against South Australia on May 16 in the third edition of the women’s state. The Sandgropers are yet to register a win against the SANFL in the leagues two matchups. A WA Day Derby is also on the cards with West Perth to host arch-rivals East Perth at home before the men’s sides matchup later in the day. Next year’s fixture will also see an increase in games played under lights, with over 20 games set to be played into the evening up from 17 in 2025. The final round of the home-and-away season will take place on Saturday August 1 before the WAFLW finals begin the following weekend. The Grand Final will take place on the weekend of August 22-23 with a venue to be confirmed at a later date.
