Rising West Coast star Reuben Ginbey will miss Saturday’s scratch match against Fremantle, joining a growing injury list at the Eagles.

Elliot Yeo has been named to take his place for the game after a 2025 season ruined by an ankle injury but Ginbey will be sidelined for the clash by foot soreness.

The 21-year-old was a standout in a one-win campaign for the Eagles last year as an undersized key defender and was elevated to the leadership group ahead of this season.

Liam Baker has been managed after featuring after representing WA in AFL Origin last week, while recruit Brandon Starcevich has not been named as he works to overcome a calf problem.

Baker’s fellow co-captain Liam Duggan (concussion protocols), Jack Graham and Tom Gross (both hamstring strains) will all remain sidelined by injuries suffered in a chaotic internal practice game last week.

In some positive news on the injury front for the Eagles, Elijah Hewett will take his place for the clash with the Dockers after missing the intraclub game due his own calf complaint.

West Coast’s top three selections from last year’s draft in top pick Willem Duursma, Cooper Duff-Tytler (No.4) and Josh Lindsay (No.19) will all feature in the game.

The game, which is closed to the general public, begins at 9am at Victor George Kailis Oval.
