While much of the attention during this year’s Singapore Grand Prix will inevitably be on the action around Marina Bay, the excitement will extend beyond the circuit.

Across the city, hotels, restaurants and bars will be getting into the spirit of race week with special events of their own.

METT Singapore is one venue getting particularly carried away . . . The luxury hotel in Fort Canning is launching what it calls The Race Edit, a 10-day program of pool parties, race-inspired dining and cocktails running from October 2-11.

The headline event is Cabana Club on October 10, when METT’s pool and garden terrace will host a six-hour party in collaboration with 528 Collective and Patron.

The action gets under way at midday with a poolside brunch featuring everything from Wagyu sliders and five-spice fried chicken wings to cacio e pepe, cheese and charcuterie, accompanied by live DJs.

The racing theme continues at Canning Bar & Lounge with The Driver’s Table. This special event features dishes and drinks inspired by famous grand prix destinations, meaning you can tuck into a Monaco lobster roll or Imola beef tartare before raising a glass with an aptly named cocktail such as 5 Lights, Pole Position or Monza.

Over at L’Amo Bistro del Mare, things will get a little more Mediterranean. It will host a special Riviera Race Club brunch on October 3 and 10, with premium seafood, free-flowing champagne and circuit-themed cocktails among the offerings.
