Some cruises are a bit touch-and-go. Literally.
Ships arrive in port, passengers have a quick visit, and then they’re gone again.
But there is demand from travellers to have more time to explore, and Norwegian Cruise Line responded on Tuesday by announcing that many of its itineraries for the 2028 season include port hours.
A spokesperson says: “With itineraries designed for deeper exploration, ships will spend approximately 80 per cent of each sailing in port, with an average call exceeding 10 hours. The season also features 175 overnight stays and late departures in 53 destinations.”
Bookings opened on August 18 for the 59-year-old cruise line’s 2028 season. There are more than 450 voyages on 20 ships, from the Mediterranean to Alaska.
“It’s never too early to start planning your next holiday,” Norwegian Cruise Line managing director Asia-Pacific Ben Angell says.
+ NCL’s 2028 season features 3 to 14-day voyages departing from 25 homeports, including Seattle, Rome (Civitavecchia) and London (Southampton).
+ There are calls to nearly 150 destinations across 51 countries.
