Deborra-Lee Furness breaks silence after filing for divorce from actor Hugh Jackman, claims of ‘betrayal’

Deborra-Lee Furness has broken her silence after finally filing for divorce from her ex-husband, Hugh Jackman, two years after their unexpected separation, taking a swipe at the Wolverine actor in the process.
Furness, 69, filed for divorce on May 23, ending the 27-year marriage with Jackman, 56.
In a shocking twist, Furness has hinted that Jackman committed an act of “betrayal”.
“My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal,” she told The Daily Mail.
“It’s a profound wound that cuts deep, however, I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us.
“This belief has helped me navigate the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage. I have gained much knowledge and wisdom through this experience.
“Even when we are presented with apparent adversity, it is leading us to our greatest good, our true purpose. It can hurt, but in the long run, returning to yourself and living within your own integrity, values, and boundaries is liberation and freedom.”
The Australian actress’s bombshell claims have further fuelled the rumours that her former husband cheated on her with his new girlfriend, Sutton Foster.
While Furness didn’t hold back, she admitted that she “remains grateful” for her nearly three-decade-long marriage to Jackman.
The pair said in a joint statement at the time of their surprise split that they had been “blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife.”
“Our journey now is shifting, and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.”
The Daily Mail reported on Wednesday that the former couple reached an settlement, with which Furness was reportedly “pleased”.
“There was some back and forth regarding this financial agreement, but in the end, she got what she believed she deserved. Both are coming out of this financially secure,” a source revealed.
There were reports of Furness and Jackman struggling earlier this year to divvy up their estimated $250 million fortune after it was discovered the pair didn’t have a prenup signed.
Jackman and Foster, 50, were recently spotted in New York City leaving Jackman’s apartment, fuelling speculation that the couple had moved in together.
