Nicole Kidman’s memorable 2001 Late Show with David Letterman moment is making the rounds again following her recent separation from husband Keith Urban.

The actress sat down with Letterman just months after splitting from Tom Cruise.

When asked about the divorce, Kidman smirked as she delivered the now-famous line: “Well, I can wear heels now.”

The comment sparked laughter from Letterman and applause from the audience.

She followed up with a lighthearted, “Let’s move on. Now we move on.”

Throughout the interview, Kidman joked with the host, insisting, “Things are fine. It’s fine,” before cheekily asking Letterman, “How was your divorce?”

Kidman and Cruise had announced their separation in February 2001 after a decade of marriage, just months before her quick-witted TV appearance.

Letterman said “you wouldn’t still be here if you weren’t doing OK, would you?”.Kidman replied, “I think I still would be”, implying she may or may not have been feeling alright at the time.

Renewed interest in that viral exchange comes just days after it was confirmed that Kidman and Urban, 57, had separated after 19 years together.

Kidman filed for divorce on September 30 in Nashville, citing irreconcilable differences.

A source close to the actress recently shared to People: “She didn’t want this. She has been fighting to save the marriage.”

The insider added that Kidman’s sister Antonia “has been a rock and the entire Kidman family has come together to support one another.”

Another source told People that the breakup had been a long time coming. “It really hasn’t been a secret in their circles that Keith and Nicole have been living separately for a while now,” they explained, adding: “People close to Keith felt like the split was kind of inevitable.”
