Aaron Carr has come a long way from the lad who grew up on meat and three veg, with no ties to the food or hospitality industry. The Yarri Bar + Restaurant chef now runs his own restaurant in Dunsborough, has cooked alongside some of the world’s leading chefs, and has picked up a slew of awards along the way. Now the father of two is adding a new chapter: a six-week residency at Crown Perth. The pop-up will run from July 28 to September 5, promising to showcase local ingredients in his signature modern Australian style.

Perth author and educator Jen Sherrington, known for her touching picture books, will soon release her third called Stuff. Illustrated by Helene Magisson, it was inspired by the real life experiences of wanting “stuff”, having enough and making enough go around.
