ANA 2025: Narrikup and Railways notch close round-four A1 wins, premiers Royals Saints remain in red-hot touch

Narrikup 1 are one of three undefeated teams after claiming a five-goal victory over Magpies 1 on Saturday in round four of the Albany Netball Association A1 competition at Albany Leisure and Aquatic Centre.

Both teams fought a hard game, with scores staying close throughout the first half.

Narrikup scored the first goal of the game within the first minute of play and managed to stay one step ahead of the Magpies in the first quarter, with shooting duo Rylee Davis and Te Paea Keremete scoring 17 goals to hold a four-goal advantage at quarter time.

Courtney White joined Keremete in the goal circle for Narrikup in the second quarter and the pair managed another 13 goals.

However, Magpies worked hard at both ends of the court, with defenders Lauren Bracewell and Tasha Burnside fighting for every rebound to get the ball back down their end of the court.

Magpies shooters Lauren Damm and Paige Simpson shot a combined 17 goals in the second term to close the margin to one at the half-time whistle.

Magpies scored the first two goals in the third quarter, giving themselves a slim one-goal lead but Narrikup hit back midway through the third term and scores were even at 38-all before Narrikup opened up a two-goal margin heading into the final quarter.

Narrikup kept pushing on their way to a strong final term that ended with a 57-52 victory.

Railways 1 defeated Bullets 1 by a slim two-goal margin, overcoming an early deficit where Bullets led by 10 goals at the end of the third quarter.

Railways brought the fight in the final term as Bullets appeared to tire, with Railways claiming a memorable 48-46 triumph.

Reigning premiers Royals Saints 1 added another win to their belt with a dominant 55-30 result over Griffins 1.

Royals started fast and were leading by 11 goals at half time before extending that to 14 points at three quarter time and then shooting 19 final quarter goals to seal the victory.

Kangas 1 who had the bye, Narrikup and Royals Saints are all yet to lose a game in 2025.
