Toilet paper panic buying is one crappy, unusual trend to emerge from the coronavirus spread, but if there is one local who can truly roll her eyes at the dunny disaster it’s Broome’s Tegan Gasior.

The mother of two was stranded on a Fijian island for a month two years ago when she appeared on the third season of Australian Survivor and said having the household item was not a matter of life and death.

“I survived 28 days without it in Fiji and a couple that I played against went 50 days without it and we were all just fine,” she said. “It is ridiculous that little old Broome is seeing people run out and stock up on all sorts of food and items, but especially toilet paper. Take it from me Broome, you will be just fine.”

The Survivor alum is the only contestant to represent the State’s north-west on the program and one of only two indigenous women to ever be cast.

She placed 14th out of 24 castaways in the 2018 Champions vs Contenders series, which pitted everyday citizens against a field of celebrities and high achievers.
