Coronavirus crisis: Australia’s COVID-19 death toll rises to 21

A person has died of COVID-19 at a NSW hospital today, bringing the country's death toll to 21.

The person died at Orange Base Hospital in the nation's worst-hit virus state, where more than 2000 people have tested positive for the virus.

The NSW death toll now stands at 10.

Earlier today, a 95-year-old woman became the fifth resident of the Dorothy Henderson Lodge aged care home in Macquarie Park, NSW to die of COVID-19.

The outbreak at the facility began in early March when one of the staff was diagnosed with the virus.

About 42 people in NSW are currently in intensive care while 275 have no known source of transmission.
