David Andrei Singeorzan: Westminster man pleads guilty to ‘love triangle’ in Bennett Springs drive-by shooting

A man charged over a terrifying early morning drive-by shooting at a home in Perth’s north-east has pleaded guilty on the day his trial was to start. David Andrei Singeorzan was accused of firing on the home in Centaurus Road in Bennett Springs about 3.10am on July 28, 2022, then driving away, with police alleging it involved a love triangle. The victim, who is believed to have been sleeping, escaped injury when three bullets hit his bedroom window. He was left shaken and scared. Almost two years later, in April 2024, Singeorzan pleaded not guilty to one count of with intent to harm, doing an act likely to endanger the life, health or safety of a person. He was scheduled to face a District Court of WA trial on Monday but changed his plea to guilty and the proceedings were vacated. The 35-year-old was remanded in custody, with sentencing listed on June 20. Just after the shooting, police said it was the second at the same property in three weeks. CCTV footage captured a car circling the newly-developed home for several hours before mounting the front lawn and an occupant firing three shots at the window.
