Tactical Response Group, WA Police surround Golden Bay home during hunt for wanted man
WA Police officers and the heavily-armed Tactical Response Group descended on a suburban street in Perth’s south this afternoon after a tense stand-off unfolded at midday.
Authorities surrounded a home in Golden Bay, with the area locked down for more than an hour as local police blocked off several streets near Tangadee Reserve.
Police could be heard through a speaker phone warning that they had the place surrounded and to “come out”.
A WA Police spokeswoman confirmed at the time that an “arrest” was underway in the area, but was unable to provide further information.
Hours after the siege came to an end, officers were seen leaving the home with bags of evidence.
Another spokesperson told The West Australian the hunt for a man detectives were looking for had sparked the siege, but he hadn’t been found during a search of the home.
The spokesman refused to say what the man was wanted for.
