First rain in Geraldton for five weeks

Geraldton has had its first drop of rain in more than five weeks.

About 1.2mm of rain was recorded at the Bureau of Meteorology Geraldton Airport between 5.30am and 8am today.

The previous recorded rainfall was 1mm on January 18.

Total recorded rainfall for Geraldton in January was 16.6mm.

This compares to 33mm in January 2017 and 18.4mm in February 2017.

The bureau has forecast a 20 per cent chance of rain tomorrow and Wednesday.
