Geraldton boy admits killing chicken with a stick

A 15-year-old Geraldton boy has admitted killing a chicken by hitting it with a stick.

The incident happened during an attempted burglary at Bluff Point Primary School on May 4.

The boy, who cannot be named because of his age, admitted to the ill treatment of an animal in Geraldton Children’s Court today.

He also admitted to attempted aggravated burglary with intent.

The court was told the boy had no prior record and the matter was referred to the Juvenile Justice Team.

Another boy, also 15, briefly appeared in Geraldton Children’s Court charged over the same burglary.

He will reappear in in the same court on June 11.
