Women in Geraldton and the Mid West keen to jumpstart a career in the science, technology, engineering and maths field are being urged to sign up to a two-day leadership workshop next month.

Value Creators will host the STEM JumpStart project on September 12-13 for women aged between 18 and 35, showcasing opportunities available to begin or grow your career.

The workshop aims to surround women in a supportive environment with mentors and other like-minded women, guiding them through capacity building and career success.

Founded by Ann Maree O’Callaghan and Maree Gooch, Value Creators is a business consultancy for organisations to thrive. STEM opportunities include agtech and agriculture, food production, research, natural resources, environmental science, information/digital technology and more.

Ms O’Callaghan said the project aimed to build confidence in women, helping to launch their STEM career and encourage them to seize opportunities.

Partnered with Rural Regional Remote Women’s Network, the program hopes to see a number of determined and like-minded women take advantage of the program.

Ms Gooch said the RRR Network had a well-respected brand and she looked forward to continuing the partnership.

“We recognise that the brand of the RRR Network is very well regarded and is recognised as being a part of good, reputable and meaningful projects,” she said.
