NBL1 West grand final MVP Johny Narkle selected to the Indigenous all stars team

Geraldton local and reigning NBL1 West grand final MVP Johny Narkle has been selected for the Indigenous Basketball Australia all stars squad.

The IBA all stars squad will face off against the visiting NCAA division one school Sacramento State over in Queensland in June for an exhibition match.

Narkle was one of 11 players from across Australia selected for the squad that includes a range of NBL1 talent.

Despite being out of action currently due to a broken bone in his arm, Narkle is looking close to returning to the Buccaneers lineup.

The all star selection adds to the collection of accolades that Narkle has added in the past 12 months.

Coming off winning sixth man of the year for the NBL1 West, the Geraldton local dominated to win the grand final MVP during the Buccaneers win over the Wolves.

Narkle then found himself in the country wide spotlight during the NBL1 national tournament, where he was named an all-star for his efforts and further played in the NBL 1 select team against the Wildcats.

The 22-year-old was then invited to try out with the Melbourne United in the offseason before coming back to Geraldton where he has been with the Buccs since.

The Indigenous All Star squad will face off against Sacramento State in Queensland on June 11.
