A 19-year-old Rangeway man is in custody tonight and a 22 year-old Spalding woman on bail for burglaries, stealings, vehicle thefts and fraud which police say they committed in Perth and Geraldton.

Geraldton Police senior sergeant Jason Scragg said initial investigations into an attempted stolen motor vehicle in Perth led them to the arrests.

Sen. Sgt Scragg said the 19-year-old male had been charged with attempting to steal the car in Perth and aggravated home burglary at Waggrakine where he also allegedly stole a car.

He is also charged with burgling a business in Webberton, and trespassing on a Moonyoonooka property where he allegedly stole another car.

Sen. Sgt Scragg said the man was also charged with damage to one of those vehicles by fire and driving without a licence.

He said the woman had been charged with two fraud offences committed with a stolen credit card, and also with vehicle theft from her alleged involvement with the Moonyoonooka stealing.

Sen Sgt Scragg said their inquiries were continuing and more charges could be laid.

They are due to appear in Geraldton Magistrate’s Court on December 19.
