Gnangara Road westbound between Tonkin Highway and Alexander Drive to close 8pm to 5am on June 30 to July 3

Motorists are being told to prepare for detours and traffic delays as new wastewater infrastructure is installed along a major Perth road.
Gnangara Road westbound between Tonkin Highway and Alexander Drive will be impacted by the works from Monday, June 30.
Water Corporation stated on its website that the works — which include installing a 6km of single wastewater pipeline and 8.2km of dual wastewater pipeline — are being undertaken to “cater for the continued growth within the City of Swan and City of Wanneroo”.
“New traffic detours will commence at the Alexander Drive intersection and Gnangara Road to prepare for our day work,” Water Corporation’s website states.
The day works will take place Monday to Saturday from 7am to 5pm and will include the following:
- Closure of the southern westbound lane on Gnangara Road
- Opening of the new temporary median lane to continue traffic flow.
- Temporary closure of Huntington Parkway and detour through Coverwood Promenade.
- Alexander Drive/Gnangara Road Traffic Signals Off and detours in place.”
Then, from 8pm to 5am from June 30 to July 3, Gnangara Road will be completely shut between Tonkin Highway and Alexander Drive while authorities undertake night works.
It’s understood there will also be temporary impacts to verges and pedestrian paths in the area.
“As with any construction activities there will be an increase in noise, dust and activity in the area,” Water Corporation added.
