Meghan, Duchess of Sussex secretly records Masterchef episode during whirlwind trip to Melbourne

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, is set to appear on MasterChef Australia after her publicist confirmed she had secretly filmed an episode during her visit to Australia.

The American-born royal, who is currently on a whirlwind tour of Australia with her husband Prince Harry, filmed the episode when the couple flew into Melbourne on Tuesday morning.

Meghan’s publicist confirmed to news.com.au she had featured “as a guest judge” on the show, which will be airing later this year.

Channel 10 announced the post on Facebook, which drew mixed reactions to the room-splitting Duchess.

“I will not be watching this episode,” one comment said.

“That’s the end of me watching,” another said.

Others were more supportive.

“I can’t wait, I love Harry and Meghan,” a comment said.

“How exciting!” another said.

The royal couple — whose unofficial tour of Australia has included multiple events across the Eastern States — have been making the most of their time down under with paid gigs, with Meghan featuring at the Her Best Life retreat in Sydney later in the week.

Prince Harry will also be featuring at the InterEdge Summit in Melbourne, and will be speaking in a conversation about “psychosocial safety and leadership”.

It’s not just paid gigs, however: the pair made their first appearance in Australia at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne on Tuesday, and later visited a support service for women and children experiencing domestic violence and homelessness, as well as the Australian National Veterans Arts Museum.

Harry even trained with the Western Bulldogs AFL team on Wednesday, before jetting off to Canberra to visit the Australian War Memorial.

The pair will then reunite to participate in the Scar Tree walk — described as a “cultural journey” which intertwines traditional and contemporary Aboriginal cultures.

They will then return to Sydney for Meghan’s speaking events, before attending a rugby match, and flying out of Sydney by the week’s end.
