The closing show of Telethon 2021 has kicked off with a bang, with a showstopping performance from Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse.

The pair of singer-songwriters joined forces with the WA young voices choir to perform a stunning rendition of Kedalak Baal Kooliny, their song written in Noongar language.

The performance kicks off the home stretch of this year’s 26-hour Telethon broadcast.

Hosted by Channel 7 presenter Basil Zempilas, the closing show has some big things in store.

Expect special live performances from San Cisco and the Ten Tenors, as well as appearances from sporting favourites Nic Naitanui and Nat Fyfe. Comedians Rove McManus and Ben Elton will also join the line-up at the Crown Theatre.

Viewers will be treated to plenty of surprises, and the return of the much-loved little Telethon Kids Ollie Lim and Lucy Antipas.

Behind the scenes, hundreds of volunteers are still taking phone donations. Many have worked through the night to keep the Telethon Cirrus call centre running.

With the Telethon tally already exceeding $30 million, organisers are hoping that this year’s fundraising total could crack last year’s record amount of $46.3 million raised.
