Australia have taken a 1-0 lead in their three-Test series against South Africa after a great display of fast bowling on the final day in Durban.
Josh Hazlewood starred with career-best figures while Matt Renshaw did it again with another wicket.
Recap all the action from our blog.
Farewell!
Australia will soak in the win for a night before they head down the road to Gqeberha tomorrow to prepare for the second Test.
But that’s it from us for tonight, so farewell!
No rest for the wicked
Australia’s fast bowling cartel isn’t set to take a rest anytime soon after Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins declared they were in good shape after their first Test victory in Durban.
“Hopeful”
Proteas coach Shukri Conrad is hopeful they will get Kagiso Rabada back for the next match.
But he says they are not a one-man team and need the batters to play their part.
WTC ramifications
South Africa now slip out of the top two in the World Test Championship standings.
Australia remain on top with the Kiwi’s now second, at least for a little while.
Pat Cummins feeling good
The Australian skipper says he still feels fresh after that bowling effort and had a few more overs in him.
They’re the words of a winning captain if I’ve ever heard them.
Temba speaks
Bavuma is very flat and knows his side now have some questions to answer.
“It’s not the way you want to start,” he said.
“The way they stuck into us, even after being 6-124 in the first innings, they showed their experince, they showed their skill.
“So, there’s a lot of questions and conversations we need to have.”
Career-best
Hazlewood has new career-best figures after today’s efforts.
He ends with 6-49 after taking two wickets in the first innings.
It was his unrelenting line and length mixed with surprise short balls that did the damage.
ANALYSIS
Australia will head to Gqeberha after a strong performance with bat and ball in a first Test victory confident they have what it takes to win the series.
First loss
This is the first time Temba Bavuma has lost a Test as captain.
It’s unlucky 13 for the Proteas’ skipper.
He had a very tough game, struggling with the bat and not getting enough out of his side in the field.
