Australia have set the Porteas a record run chase of 421 with a day and a session left in the first Test match.

And it didn’t start well as they lost four wickets in the final session on day four.

Recap the action from our blog.

Good night

We’ll be back tomorrow from 3pm AWST to see if Australia can finish the game off.

The weather looks clear as well which will bouy the tourists.

Farewell!

STUMPS

That brings an end to another outstanding day of Test cricket for Australia.

Everything went right from the pacing of their innings and few batters answering some questions to the bowlers grabbing big wickets at the end of the day.

They weren’t quite able to get Aiden Markram and he is the key to victory for both sides now.

South Africa finish the day on 4-102 trailing by 319 runs.

Last five minutes

Renshaw and Lyon will get one more over each to prize a wicket here with Markram carrying the load.

Lyon’s last spell

Renshaw got vicious turn in his last over so Lyon is back on for the last stanza of day four.

He has started around the wicket to the right handers with plenty of close-in catchers.

Like a rash

Cummins is all over Mulder with his first deliveries.

The all-rounder is struggling to get bat near them and the light is great.

Captain’s break through

Stubbs went fishing for a wide, full ball and nicks it through to Carey.

This is falling apart now with half an hour left.

Oh lord!

Renshaw just got a wicket!

He floated it up to Bavuma who prodded it onto his pad and it goes straight to short leg.

That makes South Africa’s job very hard as the skipper departs for one.

It’s his first Test wicket!

Captain’s spell

Cummins has brought himself on for a spell after one over from Lyon.

He thinks he can grab a couple before the close and is targetting opposing skipper Bavuma.

Drinks

We officially have our longest day of the Test.

If Australia can grab one more in the next half hour, they will head into the final day very confident they can get the job done.
