Trio of sprinters qualify
Three Aussies have filled up the 16 open spots in the women’s sprint qualifiers at the velodrome.
Alessia McCaig, Molly McGill and Liliya Tatarinoff all had fine rides to move on.
Ault-Connell nabs an early bronze!
Australia has already secured a medal with Eliza Ault-Connell winning bronze in the women’s 1500m T54 final.
It was a three woman race right from the jump, with Melaine Woods jumping out to the lead early and Noemi Alphonse tailing her throughout.
Ault-Connel was chasing in the opening laps but couldn’t keep up with the extradionary games reocrd pace, but she did enough to secure a bronze.
The race was rescheduled after a crash involving Ault-Connell occured yesterday.
Early win to boost spirits
Dynamic duo Corey Wedlock and Aaron Teys went to a tie break against Tonga in the lawn bowls, getting the win to start the day off right for Australia.
