AFL: Fremantle and Richmond have been spared the brutal winds and rain that have lashed WA in recent days but the contest is still set to be intense.

This is a big game for Fremantle if they want to establish their top-four credentials.

Richmond are a struggling club and the Dockers must be ruthless and see them as a chance to boost their percentage.

But you can never underestimate teams in the AFL.

3QT: Fremantle 78, Richmond 34

The game is getting out of hand for the Tigers now.

They are running out of steam and Fremantle have almost exclusive access to the footy.

Bolton had a huge influence in that term with flash and class to lead all-comers while Reid just continues to pop up in dangerous space and do good things.

Trainer, Taranto and Lalor are fighting hard in midfield but Richmond can’t get past halfback.

Treacy got another shot after the siren having taken his 10th mark of the match and nailed it to make it seven goals in a row for the men in purple.

Complete domination

The numbers are starting to stack up against the Tigers and the scores are blowing out.

The Dockers lead disposals by 52 and are winning the hitouts 40 to seven.

They are also killing the Tigers in the clearance game with 33 to 20 and the inside 50 count is now 46 to 27 in the favour of the home side.

If Fremantle kick straight this will be a big win.

Breaking the chains

The Dockers have got a run on after the break and Amiss gets another goal after Bolton got on the move.

He copped a bump but almost ignored it as he scooped the ball in and pin pointed Amiss in the forward 50.

The big forward runs around on the left and bows the ball through.

Ruck fatigue

Gray is being given a workover by Darcy and Jackson as the young man attempts to be the solo Richmond ruck.

He’s starting to tire in the pysical contest and Jackson takes advantage to get a free kick in front of goal.

He slots the set shot.

Early birds

Players from both sides have lined up more than two minutes early for the start of the second half.

They are eager to get back into it!

The Dockers would have hoped for better but their kicking for goal has been terrible.

They’ve kicked 3.9 and now find themselves unable to gain a good break at halftime and even trailed multiple times in that quarter.

Richmond’s tackling has been elite and they are more than up for the contest.

Trainer and Taranto are leading the ball winners while Reid and Bolton lead the way for the home side.

There’s some rain swirling around outside the ground and it’s on its way inside so we will have more of the same in the second half.

The blindside!

Scores are level after a huge spear tackle from Lefau.

He got Clark on the blindside and knocked the ball loose with a ring of teammates to get the ball going forward.

Rioli then pulled off a very nice dummy to get around Ryan and give Green time to get free for an uncontested mark and goal No.3.

More Tigers carnage

Jaspar Alger is done for the day.

The Tiger took a huge friendly hit in the forward line and over extended his knee which has ruled him out for the remainder of this match.

WAFL watch

As Luke Jackson and Sean Darcy battle a young Richmond ruck division at Optus Stadium, Mason Cox is lining up for Peel Thunder in a WAFL practice game.

Team sheets are yet to be submitted for the 2.40pm clash between the Thunder and Eagles at Mineral Resources Park but Cox is at the venue and warming up with his teammates.

He will be looking to impress against West Coast duo Bailey Williams — who was dominant in their win over East Fremantle last week — and Harry Barnett.

The American recruit, who headed west to join the Dockers after being de-listed by Collingwood, has been impressive in his brief stint with the club, but Darcy has been backed to retain his senior place despite an injury-interrupted summer.

Adjustment made

Treacy missed his first two set shots but makes no mistake the third time.

His contested marking is looking unbeateable so far today but he needed the finish to keep his confidence up.

Fremantle also needed the major after WA product Steely Green gave Richmond the lead.
