With under 24 hours to go until the first official NFL match on Australian soil between the LA Rams and San Francisco 49ers, the MCG is roaring and ready to go with the venue being transformed into an American football field for the highly-anticipated clash.
The historic day will include much more than just the match, with a blockbuster pregame and halftime show set to add to the spectacle on Friday morning.
NFL Senior Vice President and Global Head of Major Events and International Games John Barker said they had a big pregame show in store that would celebrate both Melbourne and Australian culture, along with superstar band the Jonas Brothers set to rock the G’ at halftime.
“There’s a huge pregame celebration that we’re gonna do that’s really gonna celebrate the culture of Melbourne and Australia and this hallowed ground,” he said.
“Then of course halftime with the Jonas Brothers, we’re thrilled to have those guys and come and really kick off their tour with us at the MCG, and they are thrilled to be here so they can’t wait to get going.”
The match will be live and free on Seven and Seven Plus from 8:45 am AWST and 10.45am local time.
