Easter 2026: Weekend full of egg hunts as WA families enjoy sunny Easter celebrations

Easter celebrations have already begun with Perth families making the most of the sunny 26C day on Saturday.

The Easter bunny made an early visit to the Manning Road Farmers Market, handing out chocolate eggs to all the little boys and girls.

Two-year-old Charlotte couldn’t contain her excitement shouting out “Easter bunny” when she saw the friendly white rabbit.

“She wanted a hug from the Easter bunny,” Charlotte’s mum Grace said.

“It’s super fun. We are spending lots of time with family and came down to the Manning markets, which we love doing every single weekend.

“We got some free hot cross buns and Charlotte got a couple of easter eggs.”

There was also an Easter egg hunt with kids running around the market trying to find as much chocolate as they could.

Diya Pichipati, 7, was ecstatic with her giant chocolate egg but she said she wanted “100 eggs” when the Easter bunny visits her home on Sunday.

Families were stocking up on other goodies at the markets ahead of Easter including fresh hot cross buns, flowers, and handcrafted gifts.

Six-year-old Naia Collet was keen to pose for a photo with the Easter bunny.

Her family celebrated Easter last weekend before her dad was deployed to the navy.

Her grandma Gabrielle said an egg hunt and seeing the Easter bunny was an extra treat for Naia.

“We celebrated last weekend with a big family dinner and Easter eggs. We all made Easter masks for each other,” she said.

“We come to the markets every weekend, so this is really nice.

“The kids were so excited when they saw the Easter bunny.”

Easter Sunday is also expected to be a lovely day with a top of 24C and partly cloudy weather.
