WA football’s finest swapped game-day gear for sharp suits and statement gowns at the code’s night of nights, the Sandover and Dhara Kerr medals, at Crown Perth on Monday.
South Fremantle star Jake Florenca had the biggest reason to celebrate, claiming the WAFL’s highest individual honour after pipping Peel Thunder midfielder Jeremy Sharp by four votes in an enthralling count.
Swan Districts gun Jaime Henry made history, taking home the Dhara Kerr Medal as the WAFLW’s best and fairest with a record 35 votes. Henry, 20, led on the fashion front too, in a plum gown and white heels.
Channel Seven’s Amelia Broun hosted the glamorous night that filled the Crown Ballroom.
The Sandover Medal has honoured the WAFL’s standout talent since 1921.
